About me

I am a contemporary painter based in Richmond, Virginia. My foundation in illustration, graphic design, and storyboarding helped to inform my fine art practice. 

Each painting is a conversation. Beginning with a subject or fleeting vision, I respond directly to what happens on the canvas—suggesting form through basic shapes, dynamic patterns, rich textures, and layered passages rather than literal description. Time is critical; the painting can only record a glimpse rather than a photographic archive.

This process is a balance of intention and improvisation. Loose, energetic brushwork meets thicker impasto built with palette knives, creating surfaces that feel alive—grounded in observation yet open to abstraction.
